The short version
We collect what we need to paint your card, print it and mail it. We do not sell anything to anyone, we do not run ads, and we do not use your photo to train models.
There are no analytics and no tracking scripts on this site. When you open a page here, your browser talks to us and to nobody else.

What we collect
Your email address, which we ask for before the first preview so we can send you a receipt and tell you when your cards are mailed.
The photo you upload, the message you write, and the names and addresses of the people you are mailing.
Your payment goes through Stripe, so Stripe holds your card details and billing address. We see that a payment succeeded and how much it was, and we never see or store the card number.
A single cookie that remembers your session so your work is still there if you come back. It carries a random identifier and nothing else. We do not use cookies for advertising.
Our hosting keeps ordinary server logs, which include IP addresses, for a short time.
Who else sees it
We use a small number of companies to run the service, and each one only gets the part it needs: an image service that paints the illustration, a printing and mailing partner, an email provider, a payment processor, and the hosting and database the site runs on.
The image service receives your photo through a link that stops working after 30 seconds. The printing partner receives the finished card and the address it is going to, and nothing else. The email provider receives your email address. Payment is handled by Stripe, which you will see by name at checkout.
We describe these by what they do rather than by company name, because the companies can change and this page should stay true. Write to hello@maildayco.com if you want to know who they are today.
Nobody else gets your information, and we do not sell or rent it. We hand it over beyond this only when a valid legal request requires it.
How long we keep it
We delete the photo you uploaded 30 days after your order, automatically. You can delete it sooner from your order page and it goes right away.
We keep the order itself: the message, the addresses, your email and the payment record. We need those for tax, for answering questions about an order, and for the record described in our terms.
If a card leads to a complaint or a legal request, we hold the material for that order rather than deleting it on schedule.
Your choices
Delete your photo whenever you like, from your order page.
We only email you about an order you placed: the receipt, a reminder before your address link closes, and delivery notices. Those are part of the order, so they keep coming while it is open. If we ever send anything else, it will carry an unsubscribe link and one click will be enough.
Write to hello@maildayco.com to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it. We will do what the law requires and, where we can, what you ask beyond that. Some records we have to keep, such as what tax rules require.
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal. We do not track you across other websites in the first place, so there is nothing for the signal to turn off.
Children
This service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Photos often have children in them, which is normal for a family card, and those photos are treated like everything else here: used only to make the card, and deleted after 30 days.
Security
Your photo is kept in private storage that is not reachable from the open internet, and the links that reach it expire in seconds. Traffic to this site is encrypted. Payment details never touch our servers.
No service is perfectly safe. If something happens that puts your information at risk, we will tell you.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy, the date at the top changes with it.
